Sultan Abdulhamid II, thirty-fourth sultan of the Ottoman Empire, engraved on 925 sterling silver in a portrait with his fez, the detail of his orders and a graceful floral border. The composed bearing of a ruler who reigned for thirty-three years through the most difficult period of the state is carried onto the medallion in dense relief work.
